I am happy that your translation goes well.

Thank you for pointing out the editors mistake. I like your suggestion below for the correction.

“According to Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava philosophy, bhakti was also described as both the means and the end.”

We will make note of that here and in future, if we reprint the book, we will make the change. The chapter on Madhva should have been subtitled “Explicit Devotion”. How the other subtitle got there I do not know. But we will change it in future.
