Controversy Finds Me! (12/15/10)
Thanks for your reply.
Well, the ‘target’ of my blog is the devotional community, primarily those in or associated with my mission. There are also a number of Iskcon devotees and devotees from other missions who subscribe to my preaching. For example, if I count all my mission members around the world there are less than 100, but at the same time there are 1,600 devotees who subscribe to KṛṣṇaTalk. Theoretically this new blog may interest some of the KṛṣṇaTalk subscribers also.
I am thinking that the blog will be a way to share and briefly discuss certain topics that might not warrant a full-fledged article. It also allows for readers to easily make comments and ask further questions. It’s my duty to preach, and the internet is certainly an effective tool in that regard.
Below is a sample of what I might be posting on my blog — thoughts, reflections and remembrances, but not without significant meaning and purport.
My interests are mainly philosophical, but controversy runs in my blood. Even when I try to avoid controversy, controversy finds me. So I have long since accepted the fact. Thus the blog is also intended to stir the sleepy mind and stir some controversy from time to time.
All comments made to the blog are first approved by me so in that way I will keep out the ‘kooks’ and other undesirable elements. It also means that the blog is primarily one-sided — the side of proper conception according to the line of Sarasvatī Ṭhākura.
