I Cannot Bend My Principles (09/03/09)

Mahārāja,

A____ passed on to G_____ Mahārāja a statement that Dr. S_____ made to him some days back.

Dr. S_____ said, “M_____ Mahārāja and Narasingha Mahārāja are pushing me to do everything fast. This is my dream, but I do not work that way. I like to take my time, etc. I will not allow Narasingha Mahārāja to “hijack” my dream!”

I had G___ Mahārāja call A___ today and confirm what Dr. S_____ had said to him and it is as stated above.

First of all Dr. S_____ has no business speaking so casually and negatively about me in front of my disciple. And using the work “hijack” tells me at this point that we/I have no relationship with Dr. S____ worth pursuing.

Secondly, I am just about fed up trying to do something with these Hindus, whose dreams are not worth an ounce of cow-dung! Money is all they have… no knowledge or proper discrimination.

At this point I prefer for you to inform Dr. S_____ and S___ on my behalf that we are not willing to proceed with our arrangements, specifically because I do not like the way or tone in which Dr. S____ has spoken about me to one of my disciples, suggesting that I would “hijack” his dream!

I want you to call A____ and tell him to turn in his resignation (zero days notice) and return to Govindajī Gardens where he can be engaged in some meaningful devotional service under my direction. I do not like this arrangement and what is happening there at all.

We are servants of Śrīla Prabhupāda, Śrīla Śrīdhar Mahārāja and Śrīla Puri Mahārāja. We are not servants of the “dream” of Dr. S_____. Let Dr. S_____ do as he wishes, but I feel very uneasy about going further with our proposed arrangements with him and I strongly feel that things will not endure in the future. They are too Hindu and we are to bona-fide for the relationship to last very long.

I don’t care how much cursed money they have. I cannot bend my principles. I do not like it that A____ is there among these people with no association or real service. I also do not like it that you will have to kowtow to the whims of Dr. S____ or any such person. You are a good preacher of Lord Caitanya’s movement and we do not have to compromise our principles to succeed in our mission endeavors. Kṛṣṇa can give us whatever he wants to give us for his service. Our main object is to please him and not these confused old Hindus.

I am pretty fed-up at this point. That is all I have to say on the matter.
