Monkey See, Monkey Do! (08/14/12)

Dear ______,

I am sitting here today wondering what is up with V_____? He didn’t write a Vyāsa-pūjā offering and we almost never hear from him. His monthly donation of $200 usually makes it evey month, but very unregulated.

Basically I think he is wasting his life there in ____. He works helping to promote a bogus religion (how could guru, Kṛṣṇa and our Guardians be happy with that?) Seems he will not be able to make much of his life until one day he meets the ‘love of his life’ and then I suspect that māyā will just about finish him off.

Maybe you could have a word with him. There isn’t much I can do to encourage him from here. I  talked with him the last time I was in _____ and there was supposed to be a plan for him to shift to Guanajuato and be with the devotees there. I guess fear and doubt got the better of him, unless there is something I don’t know or understand. Not just me, but ______and ______ have both expressed that he is wasting his valuable life with his drupal, drupal, drupal mood.

Let me know if you think that anything can be done.

My only other thought on the matter is that ‘monkey see, monkey do’ – as long as you remain situated in _____ involved with business and family, the rest of your family will take that as an example and even an excuse to follow suit. You are well past the age of material retirement into spiritual life and Śrīla Prabhupāda expects an example of you also.

Not trying to be offensive or too pushy, but the clock is ticking on all of us!!!

Hoping you are well.

Gaura Haribol,
Swami Narasingha
