Prema begins with love for guru and the vaiṣṇavas (09/14/16)

Dear ________,

I read your Vyāsa-pūjā offering with great attention and appreciation. I sincerely hope by the grace of Kṛṣṇa and our Guardians that you can continue on this path as you are doing now.

There are many aṅgas of, and qualifications for bhakti, but the crestjewel among them is genuine humility. Before our Gurudeva we are all fools and this was taught personally by Mahāprabhu Himself. Sanātana Gosvāmī shows us by his personal example of humbly taking a straw in his mouth and on bended knee, he approached Mahāprabhu. Haridāsa Ṭhākura, (today his tirobhava) was humility personified, chanting the holy name both day and night, never considering himself worthy of the Lord’s grace…thus Mahāprabhu has declared him the nāmācārya. And let us never forget the examples of our guardians Śrīla Prabhupāda, Śrīla Śrīdhara Mahārāja and Śrīla Purī Mahārāja. We saw many times their great humility and their unwavering determination to serve guru, Kṛṣṇa and the Vaiṣṇavas.

So, please continue in that line as you are doing and all good fortune of the blessings of the Lord will shine upon you. The goal is love for Kṛṣṇa, prema-bhakti, and that begins with love for guru and the Vaiṣṇavas.

Indeed, I have been inspired to read your Vyāsa-pūjā offering and humble submission to guru, Kṛṣṇa and the Vaiṣṇavas.

Looking forward to greeting you in Vṛndāvana.

With Affection,

Swami Narasiṅgha
