Regain Your Normal Kṛṣṇa Consciousness (06/16/13)

Dear ______,

Unfortunately, I cannot report that all is well in _______. On the contrary, things could not be worse. I think this should come as no surprise to you. The devotees here (more than half) are on the verge of leaving and the straightforward reason that they give me is that you have become a stranger to them. They do not feel cared for or appreciated. They feel you have become another person. You are not the ______ Maharaja who preached to them in _______ and encouraged them to take up Kṛṣṇa consciousness. In fact, they do not feel that you are even the same person that started ______

You are seldom, if ever. cheerful. They feel you have become cold toward them. In ____’s words, “I don’t think that ______ Mahārāja likes us.”

Apparently _______ had other reasons for leaving and not just his family and restaurant excuse. He told the devotees that he was not encouraged because you had become a very cold and angry person. He does not see or feel your affection, the affection that attracted him in the first place.

What I have written here is far from everything that has come to my attention in the few hours that you have been gone. When you return we will have to sit down and find a way out of this situation. Primarily a way for you to return to being the joyful Kṛṣṇa conscious inspirational person that everyone loves. Because right now that person is nowhere to be seen.

In the words of the devotees, “No one wants to leave the project but the inevitable will follow unless things return to how they used to be when an enthusing, loving ______ Mahārāja was their leader. _____ also shares the feelings of the devotees. And I myself have never seen you in such a down consciousness and miserable mood.

It may very well be that you should stay in India for longer than anticipated and recharge your batteries or do whatever it is that is necessary to regain your normal Kṛṣṇa consciousness.

Another thing that I am certain that has to happen and that is that we have to lower our expectations of what ________could be and learn to live happily with what the capacity of our devotees really is. They are all hard-working and sacrificing, but foremost they are heart people and when their hearts are wounded, then we loose them.

Pretty much if I was not here at this time then you would be seeing a massive collapse in the project with in weeks. For example, ______ stated that the only reason he did not pick up and return to _____ was the fact that I am here. And you know well what would happen if that were to happen… it would be a domino effect with a disastrous end.

So when you return from this trip we have lots to discuss. No need to hurry back from the coast. Stay as long as you like and relax with your beads and some śāstra, etc. We will have time to discuss everything before your departure to USA and India.

With Love and Affection,
Swami Narasingha
