Safety First! (07/16/10)

Mahārāja,

Sorry to hear about the accident. One thing is you should slow down a little! Your emails about the horses read like someone who has gone a little nutty with excitement! The “Ready to ride again” part of your email needs a little moderation. Safety should be first and even a novice like me knows that inexperienced riders are not suited for training inexperienced horses!! That is a point that any mature horse person will agree with. But it seems to be something that Leandro knows nothing about.

So ‘whatever’ – but just slow down a bit. You have had two accidents in as many weeks and that does not sound correct to me. Also riding in bad weather is probably not a good idea. We are not training horses to carry an army into battle, or to run fast and win races. We want mellow horses to take guests on simple rides and enjoy the countryside – and not have to be taken to the hospital with a cracked head or a broken arm.

So slow this thing down before someone gets seriously hurt!!!

Swami
