Taking Pleasure in the Defects of Others (09/14/11)
No, I haven’t watched the video.
Just a side note, and that is that Śrīla Śrīdhara Mahārāja would be very sad to see that devotees were ridiculing Iskcon/Hare Kṛṣṇa publicly because Iskcon/Hare Kṛṣṇa was once a noble institution started by Prabhupāda for the spread of Kṛṣṇa consciousness all over the world.
But nowadays Iskcon has lost the faith and respect of many devotees – still it is sad to see such public embarrassment to Śrīla Prabhupāda’s movement (Hare Kṛṣṇa) which is made by devotees themselves. Therefore, we should not get our laughs from things that publicly disgrace Iskcon or Hare Kṛṣṇa. Śrīla Purī Mahārāja also warned that if we take pleasure from the defects of others that we ourselves will make offenses and be contaminated.
So what I am saying is that there is that such things are made in bad taste and no advancement is made in such things. Therefore such should be avoided.
I have not and will not be watching the video.
