Unfortunately, ISKCON has become an institution without much genuine Kṛṣṇa consciousness. They are now simply concerned with ‘Society consciousness’ and not ‘God consciousness’. But we should not think ill of them or waste our time talking at length about their many faults. It is always better to discuss proper siddhānta and to engage in pure devotional service under bona-fide guidance. Now you have come in contact with our mission for śikṣā and you can count that as Kṛṣṇa’s mercy on you.
I am in USA, Mexico and Europe until May 2012 and after that I will return to India. Then we can meet personally. In the meantime, please keep close contact with ______ and other devotees at Govindaji Gardens by email and visit when you have the opportunity. The devotees will be able to answer all your questions because they are well trained and very sincere.
Please note that the jīva issue is only one of the many misconceptions floating around ISKCON. There are many, many more. However, if you read the articles on our website and the books recommended at our āśrama then you will not encounter any misconceptions, but rather you will experience the pure Gauḍīya siddhānta that is the special gift of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu to this world.
