Three Essential Qualities (12/16/12)

Dear _____,

Patience (the ability to accept or tolerate delays, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious), enthusiasm (always eager to render service to Kṛṣṇa and to chant the Holy Name) and determination (to remain steadfast even in the face of so many failures and obstacles) are three essential qualities necessary for advancement in Kṛṣṇa consciousness (see Nectar of Instruction/Upadeśāmṛta by Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī).

I have great hopes for the spiritual success of all my disciples and aspiring disciples. But if someone leaves the company of devotees and goes away to Māyā, then I feel greatly disappointed, mainly disappointed in myself (it is my fault) in that I was not able to keep that person on the path of Kṛṣṇa consciousness.

Otherwise I am never disappointed in my disciples because they are endeavoring sincerely and I am happy to see them serving Kṛṣṇa, guru and the Vaiṣṇavas.

_____ Mahārāja tells me that you are doing well and that you are a very sincere person. So remember the three qualities mentioned above, especially patience and you will be successful in your attempt to become purified in Kṛṣṇa consciousness.

Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Su Padre Espiritual,
Swami Narasingha
