Vaiṣṇavīs Need Good Husbands in Addition to Guru and Kṛṣṇa (01/28/10)

Dear D______,

Nice report  and specifically about ____.

A note on A_____ and why she went away: First, she had a material attraction and dependance on _____ Mahārāja and neglected that shelter of guru and Kṛṣṇa. Next, she was prone to always make petty politics among the devotees and workers. She made quick friends with any visiting female devotee to the āśrama {like our K____ Dāsī), but she quickly fought with and disturbed any female devotee who came to the Bangalore Āśrama to do regular service (like J____ and L____ etc). And most importantly, you might have noticed that A_____was “CONSTANTLY” laughing! I mean, she could not talk without laughing, regardless of what the topic was. Unfortunately this is a sign of a mental weakness… more specifically a bi-polar issue.

All the devotees, both men and women in our Mission, were very tolerant of A____ and always encouraged her and tried to help her in untold ways. Even as she was attempting to disassociate with the mission, everyone was standing there with open arms, kind words and assurances that she was loved by everyone, but no attempts were successful. She vanished! In future she may return and as before, we will be very happy to see her again approach the service of Hari, Guru and the Vaiṣṇavas. In the meantime we wish her well.

Like A_____, many women do not do well in life without a male figure that they are fully confident of that they can materially and spiritually depend on. It’s basically the nature of all women – Vaiṣṇavīs being no exception. We have several nice Vaiṣṇavīs in our mission and basically they need good husbands in addition to the shelter of Guru and Kṛṣṇa, without which it is usually very difficult for them in āśrama life. My best wishes that those young Vaiṣṇavīs eventually find good husbands in the mission – but who those husbands end up being, I cannot say. My blessings are there and I’m open to suggestions, but I’ll let the persons involved initiate those discussions before I get involved directly.
