A Promise to the Guru Must be Kept. (07/08/01)

Daṇḍavats ____ Mahārāja,

I have been thinking it over and I request you not to go to Udupi at this time for further talks with Pejāvara Swami about the controversy. Thus far, you have done a wonderful job in dealing with the issue, but my deeper feeling is that we should wait until I return to India to decide our final move.

I hope you will understand and honour my request. We can discuss this further and after my return we can make one last approach to Pejāvara Swami, if we really feel that it will produce a positive result. So please do not do anything further until my return.

Also I have come to know that V____ has taken his boys out of the āśrama. He has already promised me that his boys would be staying until another plan would manifest, but pulling the boys out of the āśrama over an argument with N____ is not what I call mature dealings. These things give me great pain. V___is my disciple (at least in name) and so are his boys. So how can he just act upon every angry impulse that comes into his mind? Ask him that!

So since V____ has removed his boys from the āśrama, I am not going to purchase the G-3 for him. You can call V___ and inform him that I will return his money when I get back to the āśrama. Getting the G-3 takes a lot of effort and sacrifice on my part but since his dealings are so immature and impulsive, I do not feel inclined to endeavour so much on his behalf. At home the computer will simply become a toy, and he and the boys must understand that a promise to the guru must be kept. If they do not follow my instruction, then there is no chance for them to make spiritual progress.

I hope this meets you well.

Praṇāms,

Swami B.G. Narasiṅgha
