Try to Make Your Family Kṛṣṇa’s Family (08/28/13)

Dear ______ Dāsa,

To put it bluntly, there are no sannyāsīs or renunciates in the spiritual world of Goloka or Vaikuṇṭha. Everyone there or almost everyone there is a family person. All are pure devotees of Kṛṣṇa and their greatest quality is their pure love for Kṛṣṇa.

You are a family man and unless you fulfill your family responsibilities to wife and children your life will be miserable. Everyone who has a material body is attached to something. In your case. it is your wife and children. So make the best of the situation – take care of your family nicely and continue to chant the Holy Name of Kṛṣṇa. Only by chanting the Holy Name can one get Kṛṣṇa’s mercy – not by renunciation or wealth or power or fame or by any other means than chanting the Holy Name and serving the Vaiṣṇavas can one get Kṛṣṇa’s mercy.

So chant daily in the morning and be a good husband and a good father. Try to inspire your family with your love and not with your indifference or detachment. Try to make your family Kṛṣṇa’s family as much as possible without creating conflict.
