A Hundred Devotees, or One Devotee… (09/12/10)
Daṇḍavats _____ Prabhu,
Yes, I guess there are thousands of similar stories of devotees out there, yet each devotee has his or her own intimate, touching and traumatic experiences. I have often thought to write a book combining my experiences in the movement with those of other devotees, change the names to protect the innocent, and at the same time preach the essence of Kṛṣṇa consciousness and try to explain what Kṛṣṇa consciousness meant to each of us in a deep and meaningful way – but its just an idea at present.
About your “suggestion” of stopping off in Europe to see you on my way back to India. If you said there were a hundred devotees eager to see me, I might think about it, but would probably not agree to the idea. But if you say there is one person somewhere who is suffering, who needs association, who lives in a place I’ve never even heard of, and who has love for Prabhupāda and appreciation for Śrīdhara Mahārāja then I might agree to go there.
