Sorry for the late reply but I am very busy these days.
I usually do not discuss such matters of the status of another devotee, especially by email and with devotees that are not closely known to me. But I will make a small exception this once.
As for X__Mahārāja and his followers, I cannot give a good recommendation. As far as I have seen they do not demonstrate the trues activities and practices of the followers of Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura and Śrīla Sarasvatī Ṭhākura.
My gurus (dīkṣā and śikṣā), Prabhupāda and Śrīdhara Mahārāja, were strict followers of Bhaktivinoda and Sarasvatī Ṭhākura. The types of things that the X_Mahārāja camp preach are there in Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇavism, but their manner of dealing with the higher topics is completely out of the bona fide line.
Without meeting you personally that is all I am prepared to say at this time. I will be at my āśrama in South India by Janmāṣṭamī. Possibly we can meet at that time.
