Not Suited for Our Mission (12/04/08)

I say that it is senseless to keep up the facade of having a guru-disciple relationship with me. As far as I am concerned, all that ended last year when he wrote to say that he thought that the teachings of Mahāprabhu and those of Śaṅkarācārya could be reconciled, or that they were the same.

If he wants to be in Kṛṣṇa consciousness then I suggest that he should start anew by looking for a bona-fide guru in whom he can put his faith and surrender. You can copy these words in my name and send them to him. We wish him all the best, but we do not want to continue any specific relationship with him involving guru and disciple. He has not made any offense – he is just not suited for our mission or to be my disciple.
