LettersI Am Making Adjustments of My Own (04/02/02)

There is No Return…(04/02/02)

Dear Swami ____,

Hare Kṛṣṇa.

Thank you for your kind email below. I am happy that you are becoming well situated, but there are some adjustments to be made from my side also.

When we meet in Hawaii next month I want you to return the śālagrāma-śīla that I gave you when you were in South India a few weeks ago. That was my personal śālagrāma and now it will be looked upon strangely by my other disciples that you have it. And as you know by now, the real followers of Śrīla Śrīdhara Mahārāja do not worship śālagrāma-śīla.

Śrīpāda G___ Mahārāja’s affection/respect for me is always touching, but the suggestion of your keeping the veśa, daṇḍa, and other paraphernalia of being my disciple is not so much appreciated by me. On your return to Navadvīpa or Govardhana in the future, I humbly request that you secure those items of a disciple from Śrīpāda G___ Mahārāja and the previous items given to you by me can be consecrated to the Yamunā, Gaṅgā, or the sea at Purī. That is my humble request.

Do not mistake my mood ‹ I am happy that you are now situated somewhere were you can become a real Vaiṣṇava and I wish you well. But my responsibility towards you as a disciple has now changed and you need not look upon me with anymore regard than the many other ‘devotees’ who may have helped you in the past.

You must now make your new situation work at all costs. There is no returning and walking back down the path that you have just left.

Again, I wish you all the best.

Praṇāmas,

Swami B.G. Narasiṅgha
