I am Humbled by the Sacrifice of the Sincere Devotees in Our Mission (04/22/01)

Hare Kṛṣṇa.

I have read your email below and I am truly amazed that things have developed the way they have since by departure four weeks ago. I do not think that you are at fault. I have advised S____ and family to simply stay at home and try to become peaceful and settle their life. Once you are out of that building, my instruction is that you should not make this topic the discussion all over the āśrama. Keep to our own business of preaching and taking care of our service. Try not to engage with S___  any more than absolutely necessary. There is very little that I can do from here to help solve the problems.

Although S____ may have become a huge disappointment, just look around and see all the very sincere devotees who are there with you one hundred per cent, and who would sacrifice everything and anything to help you. When all this gets you down, just remember those devotees and that will give you strength. These difficult times will actually make some of the devotees bond together more and we all learn a good lesson from it – one lesson that I have learned several time before. This time it was cheap compared to previous times, but we must protect our service environment so that this may not happen again.

I am humbled by the sacrifice of the sincere devotees in our mission, and within my humble capacity I give my full blessings to you all. We may be a small mission, and we may remain such forever, but the main point is that those of us who remain will be surrendered souls going back to Godhead at the end of this life.

Please try to keep yourself together during this crisis. What troubles me more than anything else is when I see that the weight of all the responsibilities that you have shouldered begins to get you down.

Please remember that you always have my blessings.

With great affection,

Swami B.G. Narasiṅgha
